Vintage Reproduction: SSW Failure

Gathering Apron Up Position

I made something beautiful.  Finished it this morning in fact.  It’s a gathering apron made from a reproduction of a vintage pattern.  The pattern instructions turned out to be rather spotty in many places listing the wrong number of eyelets, not giving a length for bias tape and asking me to do things/giving options that couldn’t work together.  The idea was simple enough though and I’m pleased with the results.  Unfortunately, it is not for me, rather it is a gift for a friend.  Not very selfish.  I’m going to try again though with a Noodlehead 241 Tote.  I’ve washed and ironed  the fabric and printed and cut out the pattern pieces.   Let’s hope my next sewing day is a selfish success.
